ABOUT US
With an established history of more than 18 years in Sydney's Upper North Shore, the team of GPs are focused on providing the highest level of personalised healthcare for their patients. In fact, to be able to do just that, was the very reason the Gordon Doctors (previously Gordon Medical Centre) was started on 10 Jan 2005.

Everyday, we strive to know, support and care for your long term wellbeing. The time we spend to deepen our understanding of your medical history may seem basic but it is an area we do not overlook. As we believe when it comes to healthcare, there is no 'one size fits all' situation.

You will experience healthcare in its intended form with the team of GPs, being Fellows of the RACGP who are continuously keeping in touch with developments in medicine. At the core of our administration team is a conviction of the importance of being friendly, caring and approachable.
Opening longer hours, offering extra services for the elderly, organising urgent results and the availability of an effective nursing team, are only some of the ways the doctors ensure you and your family are being catered for. We maintain full Practice Accreditation to ensure that we have achieved best practice.

Essentially, you and those closest to you, are our priority.

OUR SERVICES
Men's, Women's
& Child/Teen Health
The first step is to find your GP whom you trust, believe and can confide in. You should find it easy to seek help from and to broach difficult subjects in the long term. Men, Women and Children/Teens have specific needs that your GP will look out for. For acute/urgent matters, it helps in a group practice. To consult your GP, it is a small step of making a standard appointment. If there are several issues, just request a long appointment.
Preventative Care
& Skin Cancer Clinic
Prevention is indeed better than cure in the medical world. Your GP will work with you to determine your specific approach to prevention taking into account many factors. Our practice runs a recall system that you can discuss with your GP. Childhood Vaccinations, Flu & Pneumococcal Vaccinations can be booked with Nurse Clinic for established patients. Your GP can check spots and can perform biopsy removals or a comprehensive check can be done with a Skin GP with special interest.
Counselling and
Mental Health
Your GP cares for Mental Health in addition to Physical Health and integrates both aspects into a whole picture of the patient. In training and experience, your GP has cared for children through to the elderly in varied situations. Please feel comfortable to consult your GP even if it is not a physical issue. Acting as the starting point of your care, Mental Health Care Plans can be written that may involve other parties who are partly funded by Medicare. A long appointment will be needed.
Vaccination Clinic (Travel and Covid/Flu)
At least 6 weeks before travelling, or longer, if possible, travel vaccinations should be administered if required. Consult www.cdc.gov and then, it is best to make an appointment with your GP. Your GP may also review your drugs, health and provide documentation for travel if relevant. We stock all main travel vaccines including yellow fever for your convenience. Travel Clinics are privately charged. Bulk Billed Flu, Covid and Shingrix Vaccination Clinics are specially organised that can be booked.
Chronic Disease
& Elderly Care
Chronic Diseases like Diabetes, CHD, Asthma, once diagnosed, require close monitoring and regular management from your GP, nurse and possibly other health care teams. A Management Plan (Medicare funded) can be drawn up at the discretion of your GP. Your GP may also discuss with you steps to improve the condition. As we age, the role of the GP becomes more involved and essential. Your GP must be available to give comprehensive care and a long established history is none more important.
Minor Surgery
Minor Surgery might include closing deep or large cuts, removal of foreign bodies, insertion of devices and other procedures. It is best to see your GP within a few hours of an accident. All our GPs have had many years of experience with superficial wounds and have achieved good results. Please ask about GP who has trained in Skin Cancer Medicine with high experience in performing removals. Clear guidelines exist for scope for removals and a specialist will be involved in confirmed positive biopsies.
Health Assessments
Health Assessments may be indicated bearing strong evidence of its benefits at certain intervals e.g. 45 years and annually after 75 years. These are currently fully covered by Medicare. Between 45-75 years, seeing your GP annually for a checkup is recommended (privately billed). Other frequently required Health Assessments are Pre-employment, Insurance, commencing University among others. These will require long appointments.
Onsite Pathology
For convenience of patients, Australian Clinical Labs operates a walk in centre on premises Mon-Fri 8am-12pm. A referral form is required from your GP. Please do not attend if you have cold/flu symptoms but obtain a Covid-19 test first.
Infusion Clinic
Our clinic is run by trained doctor offering this service where recommended by your GP after tests and diagnosis. Example of current available treatments are Iron Infusion, Rehydration, IV Antibiotics & Calcium for Osteoporosis.
